05 — Our Story
A Kitchen That Travels
Taverna started as a borrowed grill on a friend's rooftop in the summer of 2023. We made forty loukoumades and ran out in eleven minutes. Thirty people stayed for three hours anyway.
We've never had a restaurant. We've had twenty-eight dinners, in twenty-eight places, for people who showed up ready to eat. The food is Greek. The cinnamon in the pastitsio is cassia, not Ceylon. That distinction matters to us.
Every location is borrowed. Every seat is earned by getting on the list early enough. Every plate is the same one your yiayia made, except we're the ones making it now.
